Hamburg Marathon 2019: News, Infos und Strecke. Mehr als 42 Kilometer quer durch Hamburg. Tausende Läufer und Hundertausende begeisterte Zuschauer auf den Straßen – das ist der Marathon in Hamburg. 

The Hamburg Marathon is one of Germany's most popular marathons, arguably ranking second behind the Berlin Marathon and a total of 15,174 runners participated in the 25th edition in 2010. The record participation for the event came in 2005 when a total of 17,502 runners completed the course.

OVERVIEW

The Start is located at the main entrance of the Hamburg Congress Center. Reeperbahn – the athletes will then run along Hamburg’s sinful mile towards Altona.

Elbchaussee: Following the western turning point in Othmarschen, the noble Elbchaussee leads the runners back towards the Harbour, the Gateway to the World. Along the patriarchal St. Pauli landing stage, the modern Harbour City with the Elbe Philharmonic Hall comes into sight.

After traversing the Wallring tunnel, the athletes are sent along the Jungfernstieg on the Inner Alster through the heart of the Hanseatic city. Along the exclusive east bank of the Outer Alster the athletes move towards the Stadtpark – Hamburg´s green lung – which is located right next to the architectonically interesting North City.

The last third of the course leads the athletes through Alsterdorf towards the northern turning point in Ohlsdorf.

The route moves on to the “Witches Cauldron” Eppendorfer Baum: traditionally the athletes are cheered on by tens of thousands of frenetic spectators at this location.

After a short visit to the west bank of the Alster the runners will reach the famous district Rotherbaum Made it! Finish at the Television Tower in front of Hamburg Congress Center.

In diesem Jahr wird die Strecke des großen Volkslaufes flacher – und durch einen geänderten Verlauf zwischen Kilometer 33 bis 37 hoffentlich auch wieder deutlich stimmungsvoller und "lauter". Dabei setzt der Marathon Veranstalter vor allem auf die Alsterdorfer und Winterhuder. Auch sportlich verspricht der 34. 

Marathon in Hamburg bessere Zeiten. Halbmarathon-Weltrekordlerin Joyciline Jepkosgei (25) aus Kenia gibt in Hamburg ihr Marathon Debüt. Zwei speziell auf sie abgestellte Tempoläufer werden sie begleiten. Bei den Männern soll der Kenianer Abel Kirui die Hamburg-Bestzeit seines Landsmanns Eliud Kipchoge angreifen, der 2013 bei seinem Marathon Debüt 2:05:30 Stunden lief, seitdem der weltbeste Marathoni und inzwischen auch Weltrekordler ist. Die ersten Straßensperrungen für den Hamburg Marathon 2019 gelten bereits ab Freitag, 26. April, 10 Uhr.
